Poetic Ilk:Readings of Hybrid Fiction

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The hybridization of contemporary literature is one of the most important features of our current literary landscape, and these authors are in the thick of this beautifully evolving milieu: Joanna Ruocco, Joanna Howard, J. A. Tyler, and Mathias Svalina. All will share from their present works, discussing their connection to and relationship with hybridization, and will be available for questioning about the form of hybrid (writing, editing, publishing) in a Q and A following the reading.
This panel will employ a third-party moderator from Denver’s literary community to introduce readers and facilitate the Q and A. Following moderator introductions, each reader will briefly share how his or her work encounters and evolves the hybrid form then read 10-15 minutes of his or her work. At the close of these readings, the audience will be invited to a Q and A focused on hybridization: achieving it in one’s own writing, working with it in the editing stages, and finding places for publication.
