I am an assistant professor at a small four-year ag. and tech. college in Upstate New York. I am also a writer and lifelong gamer who sees a lot of narrative potential in video games, a medium which is still only in its infancy.

This fascination has recently prompted me, with the help of scholar and fellow writer Trent Hergenraider, to explore the intersection of literary and video game narrative in a class designed around the video game Fallout 3, the post-apocalypse, and several works of fiction, drama, and film. An unexpected effect of this experiment was that I managed to create a class of not just gamers or readers but also creative writers. I look forward to discussing this and more at the upcoming &NOW panel, "Where's Your Head At".
